La Scapigliata - Leonardo da Vinci

Among Leonardo’s many famous pieces of art, La Scapigliata(commonly referred to simply asFemale Head ) is one that could be considered slightly unorthodox for its time. Critics argued that da Vinci was not simply sketching a woman with uncombed hair; instead, they suggest he was creating a work of art that depicts the natural beauty and power inherent in women. Leonardo da Vinci's La Scapigliata maintains a sense of equality between men and women in a time when such equality did not exist.

The Starry Night - Vincent van Gogh

This is 'dreamy' painting which most of us would have seen in our dreams.
I love this one for the shades of blue it carries.

Paying the Harvesters

I love the pastel shades used here and the 'expression' on the face of the man sitting. The painting's title and this man got no relationship. But he is in the 'focus' , unquestionably.

The painting is very much self explanatory. This is known to be one of the terrifying paintings. The painter Emil Nolde is one of the noted Expressionism.Expressionism seeks to distort reality to reveal a subjective viewpoint.Throughout his life, Nolde showed a fascination with other cultures and this painting, with its interpretation of various masks, is in that same vein.
